Ed, May, Debbie, Tom
The Liberty Booster Club is the life blood of the athletic program. Through the concession stand and other events they raise money for ALL the athletic programs at Liberty High School. Who are these people that are familiar to so many people in Bethlehem ?

Ed & May Glagola have been running the Liberty Booster Club for an amazing 44 years. May (Class of 1940) and Ed (Class of 1942) became involved in Liberty Athletics when their son played soccer. Ed was a printer and May was his proof reader. However, they loved coming to the football games and in those days there was always a get together after the game where coffee and cake were served. This is where they became involved in bringing along food and before they knew it they were in charge of the concession stand in the "old gym" and they never looked back. Most parents who helped out left the booster club once their kid graduated but Ed & May stayed on and 44 years later you know exactly where they will be if the floodlights at the stadium are turned on !!! Both Ed & May say that their most memorable moment in those 44 years has been the back to back State Championship Football games at Hershey.

Debbie Davies has been volunteering for 12 years. A caterer and hostess by trade, Deb started her working life at Philadelphia Airport where she was in charge of bomb checks. However, 12 years ago Deb was struck down with a terminal illness and a friend suggested that she help out at the booster club to keep her mind off things. 12 years later and Deb is still a fixture in the concession stand and that terminal illness just disappeared !!! Deb graduated Liberty in 1976 and enjoyed watching her son and daughter play sports at Liberty. Deb also considers the back to back Hershey visits as the most memorable moment of Liberty years.

Tom Lynn has been volunteering for 10 years. Tom went to Liberty but left before graduating to go in the Navy and serve his country. In 1972 he returned to school to get his GED and worked in a t-shirt factory for most of his life. He became involved in the Liberty Booster Club purely by accident when he turned up to watch his grandchildren play soccer for Freedom !! He had offered to work the concession stand but accidentally went to the Liberty concession stand and worked there all night. Once they found out that Tom was a Liberty alumni they obviously didn't tell him to go back to the Freedom stand !!! Tom must have had a great time because 10 years later he is still helping out.
